A UMAP (Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection) is a two‑dimensional scatter plot that shows cells relative similarity based on their expression profile. The left panel in the Cell Type Explorer card shows the scaled expression profile of all the graph genes in the cells. By selecting one or a set of genes in the network, the expression profile of those genes will be highlighted in the plot, indicating where the selected genes are mainly expressed. In the right panel, the clusters are colored based on their annotated cell types, which enables the comparison of expression patterns across distinct cell populations.
